Our Mission
Nothing should be more important than public health and safe prescription drugs. Not corporate profits. And not higher stock prices. Wyeth made millions - possibly billions - from the sale of Fen-Phen, a drug they knew was harmful. They promised to help their victims . . . and now they are breaking their promise.

If Wyeth will not pay victims of Fen-Phen in a timely manner, then the victims’ rights to hold Wyeth accountable in court should be restored.

Fen-Phen Victims Coalition is a grassroots movement of victims, families and friends who have been hurt by Fen-Phen, and who want to help bring justice to the many lives harmed and destroyed by Wyeth.

This site was created by Majority Counsel, a coalition of more than 45 firms and 150 attorneys representing the rights of over 45,000 victims who have been damaged by Fen-Phen. It is designed for victims of Fen-Phen and their family and friends, as a way to share experiences, find out the latest information on this issue and pay tribute to those who have been injured and died as a result of taking Fen-Phen.

About Fen-Phen
From 1989 through September 1997, Wyeth (formerly known as American Home Products) marketed and sold two prescription drugs for weight loss in the United States under the brand names Pondimin (fenfluramine) and Redux (dexfenfluramine). Beginning in 1992, physicians commonly prescribed Pondimin in combination with phentermine, another prescription diet drug. Phentermine was, and still is, manufactured and sold under several different brand names. The combination of Pondimin with phentermine was often referred to as "Fen-Phen."

In 1997, the Mayo Clinic reported a relationship between Fen-Phen and valvular heart damage. The FDA and Wyeth acknowledged that Fen-Phen was dangerous, and Wyeth ceased sales of Pondimin and Redux. Wyeth later admitted that testing showed these hazards, but the company chose to move forward with sale of the drugs to over 6 million Americans.
